POSTDOCTORAL SUPERVISION

I have been very honoured to have worked with exceptional emerging scholars over the past decade as their postdoctoral “supervisor” – although none of them has required much “supervising” and the learning has been reciprocal!  These opportunities have produced strong friendships and ongoing research and writing relationships.

Co-supervisor with Dr. Steven Bocking, Trent University. Dr. Heidt is the Research and Administration Manager at the Centre on Foreign Policy and Federalism and headed The Confederation Debates initiative to digitize and distribute Canada’s “founding” debates as a Canada 150 project.

Peter Kikkert (Ph.D., Western), SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship, 2015-17. Co-supervisor with Dr. Heather Nicol, Trent University.  Dr. Kikkert is the Irving Shipbuilding Chair in Arctic Policy at St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.
